Modern Hypocrites Minute Track 2: Tommy James and The Shondells - I Think We're Alone Now - I want to use this series of live recordings to spotlight songs that inspired me to learn guitar and write songs and some songs I wrote. The second song I want to spotlight is I Think We're Alone Now. I was first exposed to this song from the collection of 45 Records my Mom kept in our basement. I was given a Masters of the Universe record player when I was around 4 or 5 and would sping this record on repeat for HOURS. The song was written by Ritchie Cordell who also wrote Mony Mony (Also a Hit for Tommy James and The Shondells). Ironically both songs became hits around this time when and Billy Idol covered "Mony Money" and Tiffany covered "I Think We're Alone Now" and toppled Billy from the charts. I think I've made every band I've ever been in cover this song. I love it so much. I think it's a perfect pop song. #ModernHypocritesMinute
