The Modern Hypocrites Minute Track 5: The Ramones – I Just Wanna Have Something To Do - I want to use this series of live recordings to spotlight songs that inspired me to learn guitar and write songs. The fifth song I want to spotlight is I Just Want To Have Something To Do. I rank The Ramones amongst the GREATEST American Rock N Roll Bands of All-Time. Four leather clad guys from Queens with weird haircuts decided to plays 50’s Rock and 60’s Bubble Gum Pop songs as fast as possible and created punk rock music. I’ve always considered this song from Road To Ruin written by Joey Ramone to be one of their masterpieces. Most songs are about what you did or what you want to do, but Joey created a teen anthem about boredom and made it romantic. Considering how we are all under a STAY AT HOME order I wanted to choose this song to celebrate one of my favorite bands and favorite rhythm guitar players, Johnny Ramone. 1-2-3-4! #ModernHypocritesMinute
